The Games We Play

We all play games. We make them up about our lives and then play them out. The games of; I am too old, I am too broke, it is too late. Whatever scenario we deem in our imaginations to be real we bring to life and then create around it. I am not saying certain circumstances may not be true in your life situation, but there is a story you bring along with them imbued with meaning which then goes on to create limits and boundaries that you decide you have to overcome before you can do the things you might really want to.
We can underestimate the power generated from our imaginations and felt experiences. We take them to be ‘reality’ and then feel that we have to work within the confines of them. And this can create a complex matrix of rules and regulations. What if it was as simple as just doing the very thing you would like to try out. Not delving into the reasoning part of your brain, or looking for ways to justify your choices. What if life can really be as simple as having an idea and acting on it, even in the smallest of ways without manufacturing a story around it? This could be a simple act of subtraction, take away the storyline, the characters, the backdrop and the soundtrack and just take one step toward the fruition of your conceived idea.
